February is American Heart Month!

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States. It’s time to reinforce the importance of heart health! Most heart disease and stroke deaths are preventable. We want to share with you some tips and inspiration that can make a positive impact! 

 

Healthy Heart Tips

We LOVE our customers! And we want to keep you safe and healthy! Here are just a few examples how YOU can implement self-care for a healthy heart.

  • Doing at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity a week (or, just getting started with a 10-minute walk!)
  • Eating healthy
  • Learning CPR (Hey… call us for your CPR supply needs!)
  • Controlling blood sugar, cholesterol, and blood pressure
  • Not smoking or vaping
  • Maintaining a healthy weight
  • Wash your hands often
  • Remember to RELAX

We know, its hard to find the time to care for yourself amidst the hustle and bustle of everyday life… but just a little self-care can drastically improve your health! 

Go Red for Women

Who rules the world? GIRLS! Go Red for Women is the American Heart Association’s signature women’s initiative to increase women’s heart health awareness. For decades, the Go Red movement has encouraged people to live healthier and for longer, free of heart disease and stroke. Friday, February 3rd is National Wear Red Day! AHA encourages everyone to wear red on this day to raise awareness about cardiovascular disease and ultimately, to help save lives!
